Rush Street Pillows

I had about 2 hours this morning to sew some pillows for the family room. I reused the old pillows, the left overs from the mistreatments project and some coordinating fabric from my stash. Most of which I bought out of the 50% off remnants bin. Because I reused the old pillows some of my new ones are a little lumpy and a couple are a little flat. But they look used and loved and that is exactly what they should look like in a family room. Don't you think?

I try to buy neutral materials for my projects when I find them on sale and keep a stash. Things like nubby cotton fabric in neutrals, tan and blacks, off white matelasse and trims. It makes it really easy and inexpensive to change things when the feeling hits. Which in my case is quite often. So for a few dollars I have a nice fresh look on my dark, not so fresh, very used sofa.

My favorite pillow is the one with the raggedy frayed raw edges. It was the easiest one to do. I didn't even have to turn the fabric inside out. The pillow with the tea pot and number 1 are dishcloths I ordered from Sadie Olive a few weeks ago. Pillows are one of my favorite cozy touches to add to rooms and so easy to "do it yourself."

You did all those pillows in about 2 hours? Shazzam! They look great! I have been eyeballing my sofa pillows for weeks. They need some h.e.l.p. I restuffed my family room sofa pillows a few months back. I bought giant bags of fluff from Walmart and for about $6 the pillows weren't deflated anymore.

Very impressive! Love the new pillows. And in only 2 hours? It would probably take me that long to remember how to thread my sewing machine.

The pillows turned out well, I am with Marie on the stuffing, I do that all the time to plumb the sad ones up! Kind of like a boob job for the flat chested pillows!!!

I love the fact that you call your curtains mistreatments! I must of done a "mistreatment" on my sewing room table then...it has raw edges all over the place and I just stapled the heck out of it, now I am going to hot glue some trim on! That may or may not be straight, I am a fly by the seat of my pants, fast food kinda craft queen! No perfection signs in my house...
